WEEK 4 - International Framework of Sustainable Development

 Class Overview

Today's class, we discussed about how global cooperate each other to create Sustainable Development's goals. The lecturer also tell us that there are some words is from Portugal from example: Garfu, Almari and Minggu. Our lecturer explain how the international make agreement through conference that provide a platform for the global strategies for SD. Some of them are, Rio de Jameiro Conference, Kyoto Protocol, Johannesburg South Africa and Bali UN Climate Chan transition from MDGs (2000-2015) to SDGs (2016-2030). In addition, he also mentioned that the 3rd Rector of IIUM is one of the founder of blueprint for Muslim to have Islamic University. Next, our lecturer also point out the definition and concept of Sejahtera and told us how Sejahtera been apply in our society.

Personal Reflection

From my observation, I agree that Sejahtera Development's Goals will not happened if there are no cooperation in them. For me, it is very hard to create something new that widely involve and not one or two country but more of it or if i can say, the whole earth. When i see the journey of SD, there are lot of process and effort involve to create something great that can give a big impact to society, environment and economy. The way my lecturer explained all of these are very interesting because he relate everything with his experiences and that make me more knowledgeable about the country that involve in global conferences. For example when we talking about Brazil, he said that the seed in Brazil are brought to Malaysia.  

Application of Learning

The development of SDG's teaches us the important of teamwork to achieve something big. The spirit of cooperation must be hold in our heart to make the process of work being smooth. Teamwork is essential for creating supportive and dynamic learning environment. "Together we stand, divided we fall", This quote inspires us, my team, to keep cooperate each other.

Conclusion

In wrapping up today’s class, I felt a renewed appreciation for the role of global cooperation in achieving meaningful change through initiatives like the Sustainable Development Goals. It’s inspiring to see how countries can unite, pooling resources and insights to address issues that impact all of us. Learning about these international agreements and the concept of Sejahtera also gave me a sense of how collaboration really drives progress. Overall, this lesson deepened my understanding of how essential teamwork and shared vision are in moving us toward a better, more sustainable future.
